Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the brand called A-Sei?
The name A-Sei (えいせい) comes from the Japanese word meaning “hygiene.” The brand was inspired by Japan’s culture of cleanliness and its high standards of hygiene, as well as the Japanese approach to caring for the home and family.
From thoughtful organization and storage to hands-on cleaning throughout the home, these everyday routines reflect a philosophy of “Do It Yourself for Love”—showing care through attention to detail while valuing simplicity and efficiency. Inspired by these distinctive Japanese values, we have made them part of A-Sei’s brand DNA and the inspiration behind our name.
Why Choose A-Sei Products?
Under our “Simply Professional” concept, A-Sei is committed to making international standards of hygiene simple and accessible for everyday living. We pay attention to every detail, from research and product design to development, creating solutions that seamlessly combine cleaning and disinfection functions with efficiency and ease of use.
Our products feature carefully selected plant-based formulas and A-Sei’s Organic Signature Blend, developed in line with Japanese standards. With a focus on gentleness, particularly for sensitive skin, our products are designed to help protect you and your family from irritation, dirt, unseen harmful germs, and unwanted chemical residues—providing effective yet gentle cleaning without unnecessary residue.
Beyond our products, A-Sei is committed to contributing at least one-tenth of our annual profits to initiatives that support sustainable social development.
Why Choose Organic Formulas and Avoid Harmful Chemicals?
In everyday life, we may be exposed to various substances through inhalation, skin contact, or ingestion. Reducing unnecessary exposure to potentially harmful chemicals has therefore become an important consideration for many consumers when choosing products for everyday use.
With this in mind, A-Sei researches, designs, and develops products that combine effective cleaning and disinfection functions with carefully selected plant-based formulas. Our products incorporate A-Sei’s Organic Signature Blend, developed in line with Japanese standards, providing an alternative for those looking for thoughtfully formulated products for everyday living.
Why Is Disinfection Needed in Addition to Cleaning?
Cleaning and disinfection are often mistaken for the same process. We may judge cleanliness by what we can see, smell, or feel, but cleaning primarily removes visible dirt, debris, and biofilm from surfaces. A surface that looks clean and has no unpleasant odor does not necessarily mean that harmful germs are absent.
Germs such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi are generally invisible to the naked eye, making it difficult to determine their presence or whether they may still spread. For this reason, disinfection can be an important additional step, particularly on frequently touched surfaces around the home.
The effectiveness of disinfectant products should be supported by appropriate standardized testing and reliable laboratory evidence, helping consumers make informed choices about the products they use.
How Is Effectiveness Against Bacteria and Fungi Tested?
Disinfectant products that make antimicrobial efficacy claims are required to undergo appropriate testing based on recognized standards. The methods referenced include those of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC), including AOAC Official Methods 955.14, 955.15, and 964.02, as referenced in the AOAC Official Methods of Analysis (2016).
In Thailand, laboratory testing may be conducted by qualified facilities such as the Food and Biological Safety Assessment Laboratory, Biological Analysis Unit, Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University. Testing involves evaluating product efficacy against specified microorganisms, which may include bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella choleraesuis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, depending on the applicable test method and product claim.
The results provide evidence of the product’s antimicrobial performance and may be used as supporting documentation for applicable regulatory processes. For example, A-Sei’s Multi-Surface Disinfectant & Cleaning Solution has undergone testing for efficacy against bacteria and fungi, supporting its intended cleaning and disinfection functions.
What Is an Irritation Test?
An irritation test is a safety assessment conducted on products intended to come into contact with the skin before they are introduced to the market. Product formulations may contain various ingredients—such as preservatives, fragrances, natural extracts, and cleaning agents—that may cause irritation or allergic reactions depending on their type and concentration.
Such testing helps assess the potential for skin irritation and provides supporting safety information for consumers. A-Sei products have undergone irritation testing by DRC (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a company established through collaboration with DRC Co., Ltd. of Japan, with more than 20 years of experience in product safety assessment.
What Is the Difference Between a Concentrated Refill and a Ready-to-Use Refill?
A-Sei Concentrated Refill contains a concentrated formula designed to be mixed with water at home—our “Make It Yours” concept. Instead of transporting a full bottle of water-based solution, consumers carry only the concentrated formula, helping reduce unnecessary product weight and the resources associated with transportation.
Unlike a Ready-to-Use Refill, which is already diluted and ready to use, A-Sei’s concentrated format requires a much smaller volume. For example, to prepare 400 ml of solution, a conventional ready-to-use refill would require approximately 400 ml of product, while A-Sei requires only 50 ml of concentrate before dilution. This reduces the volume and weight transported by up to 8 times.
The Concentrated Refill concept is therefore designed to help reduce energy and resource use throughout the supply chain, from production and packaging to transportation and reuse.
Why Does the Spray Bottle Come Empty?
Have you ever wondered why we transport water when clean water is already available at home? A-Sei’s spray bottle comes empty by design. Our concentrated refill system is intended to reduce unnecessary product weight, improve transportation efficiency across the supply chain, and help reduce the resources and energy associated with transporting water.
A-Sei spray bottles are made from durable, high-quality plastic and are designed to be reused more than 30 times, with an expected usage period of approximately 2–5 years, helping reduce the need for replacement packaging and plastic waste.
The high-quality spray head is imported from Europe and is designed to deliver more than 10,000 sprays. It can also be adjusted between mist and foam modes, allowing you to select the appropriate application for different uses.
How Do I Prepare the Concentrated Refill?
A-Sei Concentrated Refill is designed to be simple and convenient to prepare:
Open the refill container and pour the concentrate into the spray bottle. Leave the refill container upside down for approximately 1 minute to allow all of the concentrate to drain into the bottle.
Add clean water up to the indicated fill line.
Attach the spray head and gently shake to mix the solution.
Rinse the empty refill container and dispose of it appropriately for recycling.
Once mixed, turn the spray head to the open position and select either mist or foam mode as appropriate for the surface you wish to clean.
What Are the Product Price and Package Contents?
A-Sei products are designed with value and everyday practicality in mind. The set is priced at THB 349 and is designed to last approximately 2–4 months, equivalent to an average of around THB 116 per month.*Each set includes:
1 high-quality reusable spray bottle, designed for approximately 2–5 years of use and more than 30 reuses, with a spray head imported from Europe.
2 bottles of Concentrated Refill, featuring a compact design that saves storage space and can be recycled.
*Actual usage duration may vary depending on frequency and amount used.
